Vintage Toy Baby Shower

Last week I shared my favorite daddy and daughter books. Writing that post I was reminded of all the wonderful books Izzy received at her baby shower. I also realized I never shared the beautiful vintage toy baby shower my mom and sister threw for me when I was pregnant. I loved every detail of the shower!

First, my sister came up with a cute hashtag for the event. When picking a hashtag, get creative. Also pick something people can remember. It’s a great way to get guests involved. After the event you will love looking through all the pictures on social media attached to your hashtag. Want to decorate without spending a lot of money? Go through your grandmother’s attic. These old shoes and nursery song book added the perfect vintage touch to the shower without costing any money.

My best friend was pregnant at the same time I was so we really wanted to capture this precious moment! We found this idea on Pinterest and recreated it with a vintage chalkboard sign.

My mom and aunts made the tissue pom poms {affiliate link} hanging from the ceiling by watching videos and reading tutorials online. Check out this step by step tutorial from HGTV. It takes work, but they add an extra special touch and you can reuse them. I also love the vintage toys on the table behind the couch. You can find treasures at local thrift stores, garage sales, or antique outlets.

My sister and mom had a few surprises for me! One of the them was the personalized baby onesies. My mom had a craft night before my shower and invited close friends and family. She purchased white onesies {affiliate link}, ribbon, and fabric paint. Each person designed their own unique baby onesie. I loved all the unique designs.

Here is another shot of the onesies. Also did you notice the vintage cribs used to hold some of the presents? My aunt had these cribs at her house and she brought adorable old quilts to lay in them. I thought it added the perfect classic baby touch.

Overall, it was a wonderful event and we were so blessed to be showered with so much love!
