Learning & Toys: HABA USA Review
This post has been sponsored by HABA USA. Although I received a review product free of charge, all opinions expressed are 100% my own.
How do you know which toys are best for your child? Especially in today’s market there are so many to choose from. I definitely don’t have all the answers, but I wanted to share with you my views on the toy industry and one of our favorite new toys from HABA USA.
Learning & Toys
Toys are a fun way to engage children in learning. A lot of companies market their toys as being able to teach your child something. That sounds wonderful, doesn’t it? In my journey through motherhood, I noticed I’m becoming pickier when it comes to toys.
Things I look for in a good toy include:
- safety
- play value
- quality
- age appropriateness
Additionally, I noticed that our daughter seems to stay engaged longer and learn more from non-electronic toys.
Enter HABA USA. We were so excited to review their Rainbow House Pegging Game. It is a wonderful well-made wooden toy. I believe this toy can help our daughter develop her fine motor skills. She has to learn how to control her fingers to place the blocks on the peg. She also seems to love the challenge of creating new colorful designs. Not only are the toys safe, but many of HABA USA’s toys are engaging and help children to become active participants in play. Research is also suggesting that “Basic is better.” Check out this article from the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
Imaginary Play
We love traditional and new toys. As a young child I loved ‘make believe’ and engaging in pretend play. My favorite activities were playing library and being a cashier at the grocery store in our kitchen. I even asked for a calculator that printed one Christmas so I could make my own receipts. HABA USA has a wide selection of pretend play toys that I can’t wait to try with Izzy one day. Have you seen this adorable doctor’s suitcase or their collection of strollers/prams? Too cute! What is your favorite type of imaginary play to engage in with your children? I’d love to hear from you in the comments below!
