Easter Traditions

Do you have any special Easter traditions for your family? Growing up my mom always made us baskets for Easter mornings. As we got older and our family became more health conscious there was less and less candy in our baskets. Honestly I was okay with that and I think if you decide to do an Easter basket there are so many great alternatives to candy. As Izzy gets older we are planning on giving her something small on Easter morning. This year I was super excited about giving her three new children’s books. We created a short video of Izzy previewing the books and reading to her mommy. I love how excited she has been about reading lately. She will finally sit down and read for longer than two minutes.

Here are the books included in our Easter basket for Izzy:

Bunny’s First Spring

Little Chick’s Bible

Princess Hope Sticker & Activity Book

Another one of my favorite Easter traditions is the egg hunt we have at my grandparents. This may sound silly since all of the grandkids are either in their 30s or 20s, but my grandparents still hide hundreds of eggs for us to go searching for each Easter. Now that there are some great grandchildren in the mix it has become even more fun. I’m not sure of the exact number but I bet there were close to 30 people last year! I truly appreciate them doing this because I know it is a lot of work. But it is something we have been doing for at least 20 years and it’s a wonderful time to be with family.
