Trunk or Treat
Have you ever heard of trunk or treat? A new children’s board book written by Michelle Medlock Adams details this fun October tradition. This is one of the first books I’ve seen address this new tradition. Instead of the typical door to door trick or treating, you walk around a parking lot going from car trunk to car trunk. The book, Trunk or Treat!, follows a young princess and cowboy as they walk car to car at the church’s fall festive.
We enjoyed reading this book with our daughter because it is light hearted and festive. Izzy always seems to enjoy books with rhyming text. I also like that it gives a different take on fall fun. There aren’t scary monsters, goblins or witches in the book. For our family this is a plus. The illustrations are fun and Izzy liked pointing out all different costumes.
We are starting to incorporate more fall activities into our daily schedule. Izzy loves reading books about autumn, eating apples and playing with her fall sensory bin. What fall activities do your children enjoy?
I’m excited to be giving away one copy of Trunk or Treat! to a Heart of Deborah reader. Open to US residents only. Enter the giveaway here:
