The Day is Waiting
I received this book free from the publisher, Zondervan. The opinions I have expressed are 100% my own.
The Day is Waiting is a beautifully illustrated children’s book reminding us of childhood adventures and the warmth of home. Our family couldn’t wait to read this new book because as I child I loved Don Freeman’s Corduroy. After Freeman’s death, his wife decided to use his never before published artwork to create a commemorative book, The Day is Waiting. Linda Zuckerman wrote the rhyming text and together they created an adorable children’s book. I love how the book takes you on a journey through the big world. At the end we are reminded that no matter how far we go, we always have home to come back to.
My daughter seemed to enjoy the book as much as I did. I am still careful about giving her hardcover books because I don’t want her to rip the pages. She did great when I gave her this book. She was drawn to the illustrations because they are fun, whimsical and colorful. Izzy loved pointing out all the things she knew in the pictures. She also seemed to enjoy the rhyming text. I love books that rhyme, they just seem happy.
