Do you have a sweet tooth, but desire to eat ‘healthy’? My husband loves having a treat after dinner. Sometimes we grab a piece of dark chocolate, but other times we want something more! Enter Sweet Debbie’s Organic Cupcakes. Debbie created a dessert cookbook with allergy-free and vegan recipes that actually taste good. It won a Best Gluten-Free Cookbook Award from Delicious Living Magazine and a Best Vegan Cookbook Award from Green Vegan Living. I was so excited to receive a copy for our family.
The cookbook exceeded my expectations. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of recipes and how good they tasted. I tried the Sunflower Butter Chocolate Cookies and they were a HUGE success. The cookies were not dry at all and no butter was used in the recipe. Debbie has recipes to make your own flour, sunflower seed butter, and chocolate chips. But if you want to save time you can substitute those ingredients from the store. If you aren’t nut free use peanut butter or almond butter instead.
Another bonus, we could eat the raw cookie dough without fear of getting sick since no eggs were used in the batter. The cookies were amazingly delicious and only lasted 2 days in our house. Other recipes I can’t wait to try: Salted Caramel Apple Muffins, Basil Lemonade Cookies, and Blueberry Streusel Donut Holes.
What is your favorite vegan dessert?
