Pregnancy Update: 14 Weeks

I’m officially in the second trimester of pregnancy! Whoo, hoo. I remember finding out I was pregnant and thinking my first appointment at 10/11 weeks sounded so far away. Now I can’t believe how quickly time is going. I did a few pregnancy updates with our first daughter so I thought it would be fun to share some highlights with our second baby. Unfortunately the doctor’s insisted I take the glucose tolerance test at 12 weeks in my pregnancy. I guess since Izzy was over 9 lbs that puts me more “at risk” for gestational diabetes. Man that gluco-crush drink tastes horrible and I felt so sick waiting to get my blood drawn. Thankfully, everything turned out normal. Maybe I just have big babies?

14-weeks

How am I feeling?

I am finally getting my energy back which feels amazing. Around 7-8 weeks I started to get very sleepy and I napped every single afternoon for at least an hour. It was difficult getting things done being this tired so I am super grateful to have my energy back. I also feel less nauseous, although I still get some occasional waves of sickness. Usually it happens when I’m changing Izzy’s diaper, yuck.

What am I craving?

At first I was craving things I normally don’t eat like bread and cheese. Now it seems my cravings are changing. Maybe it’s Izzy’s obsession raspberries, but I’ve been craving fruit and cucumbers.

How I’m changing?

My pre-pregnancy clothes still fit, but at the end of the night my stomach is definitely bloated!

What am I looking forward to?

I can’t wait to find out if we are having a boy or girl. I know some people wait until the baby is born, but I just don’t think I could do it. Both sides of our family think we are having a boy. Any guesses? We should know around 18-22 weeks.

Thanks for following Heart of Deborah. I hope you are blessed by what you find here and I can’t wait to connect with you on Facebook and Pinterest.
