Patience is a Virtue
I always used to joke and say “patience is a virtue…..that I don’t have.” One of the things I admire most about my husband is his patient heart. He has a laid back personality and he doesn’t get flustered easily. I consider myself emotional, in a good way. I’m easily excited and my dad gave me the nickname mildly myopic miss melodramatic Lauren growing up.
After having Izzy I’ve realized that God is working on my patience. But it doesn’t have to be the birth of a child, He can use any situation to increase our patience, love, humility, etc. Paul writes in Ephesians 4:2 that we should “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”
I need to remember this when Izzy is screaming at 4 AM and she doesn’t want to go back to sleep. I also need to remember this when I want to do something and she interrupts these plans. Instead of becoming upset that I have to change my plans I need to embrace the moment and pour my love out to this precious blessing (Izzy).
